Sunday Starters 13/Moderate/32

Sunday Starters Banner

Welcome to the Sunday Starters Ride!

This ride is for people who are relatively new to group rides and want to join a friendly, supportive group to build their riding capacities, and for more experienced riders looking for a relatively easy spin on a Sunday morning. All riders should come expecting to wait at turns and at the top of climbs. As long as you can keep up with the "minimum average pace" given in the ride classification above, we will not drop you! Before registering for this ride, please review our ride classifications page to learn more about the ride classification indicated in the title of this ride.

About This Week's Route

Distance: 32 mi (52 km)
Elevation Gain: 1332 ft (406 m)
Route: Clockwise loop passing by nine of the local Carnegie Libraries (Woods Run, Allegheny, Downtown, Lawrenceville, East Liberty, Homewood, Squirrel Hill, Homestead, and Hazelwood). The beginning and end of the loop follow flat river roads/trails, so plenty of easy spinning available on this ride.
Start from Southside Riverfront Park under the Birmingham Bridge: from Carson Street, take 18th Street across the railroad tracks to get to the parking area.
