NEW START LOCATION TODAY!!! SENECA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
This will be a no drop ride at a relatively relaxed pace with modest climbing. Starting locations and distances will vary. It is intended as a versatile ride where members of different abilities can meet and ride together, including medium riders who are getting their legs back for the new season, advanced riders who want a recovery ride after a week of hard workouts, and beginning riders who are building on a good foundation of basic road cycling skills and fitness. If road cycling at this pace is new for you, however, better choices may include the Sunday Starters Ride or the Ride & Refuel Ride - their ride leaders will be happy to advise you.
This week we will ride a 30.7 mile loop from Seneca Valley High School to Moraine State Park and back. We will stop at Pleasant Valley Beach on the South Shore of Lake Arthur. The terrain is mostly rolling, with steep but short sections at miles 3.7 and 5.5, so we pay our hill dues quickly and get it over with. The last 10 miles are a long gradual descent with rollers. Expect an average pace of 13-14 mph - if you can maintain that pace the group will wait for you at turns and at the top of longer hills.
An email notification will be sent by 8:00 AM on Sunday if we need to cancel for rain.
